Law n°2020-105 on the circular economy
19 November 2020
What are the implications for the public institutions’ purchases?
Law n°2020-105 of February 10, 2020 on the fight against waste and the circular economy will come into force on January 1, 2021.
What does the law mean?
The state and local authorities have three obligations:
1/ Reduce the consumption of single-use plastics and the waste production
2/ Give preference to reused goods or products using recycled materials; the goods acquired annually by the State’s services as well as by local authorities and their groupings are made from reused or incorporate recycled materials
3/ Promote the purchase of softwares designed to limit the energy consumption associated with their use
This law therefore promotes re-use and reparability.
Which products are concerned?
Below is an extract from the list of products and product categories sold by Itancia Again for which minimum percentages of the annual purchase amount of goods from reused or incorporating recycled materials are set.
The minimum percentages indicated are to be considered per line of the table below. They can therefore be achieved by all or some of the products or product categories within the same row.
The minimum percentages from reuse contribute to the overall percentages from reuse or incorporating recycled materials.
